Tim Church is a composer and musician who is fascinated by the connection between music and dance. In 2002 he began studying African percussion. Suddenly a whole world of opportunities opened up, including playing at concerts, festivals, and recordings. He is grateful for the interesting and fun path that music has taken him on. Working with choreographers, dancers, and dance teachers over the years has enriched the way he thinks about music. He has been commissioned to compose many scores for contemporary dance. His favorite thing about playing with Drum Café is seeing audience members’ faces when they try drumming for the first time.
